High-performance metal: High corrosion-resistant stainless steel "Marine Stainless"

Stainless steel screws with "corrosion resistance to seawater," "acid resistance," and "high strength."

The catalog is available for download from "Ipros Monozukuri." Conventional stainless steel is prone to localized corrosion in solutions containing chloride ions, such as seawater, or in chlorine environments, which limits its use and requires frequent maintenance. "Marine Stainless MS-270" is an austenitic stainless steel that has superior resistance to chloride corrosion and stress corrosion cracking compared to SUS316 and duplex steel. Additionally, by adding molybdenum, nitrogen, and copper to high chromium and high nickel, this special stainless steel significantly improves corrosion resistance and also excels in acid resistance. With "Marine Stainless MS-270," maintenance-free operation becomes possible.

Tips on Welding Materials: Characteristics of Austenitic Stainless Steel

Strong in low-temperature strength and toughness! Welding materials with a large coefficient of expansion and low thermal conductivity.

"Austenitic stainless steel" has excellent workability and weldability, and unlike other stainless steels, it is a non-magnetic welding material. Due to its sensitivity to stress corrosion cracking, care must be taken regarding stress concentration in welded areas. Additionally, craters are prone to cracking, so it is necessary to devise welding techniques such as crater treatment. In vacuum device components, having magnetic properties can be problematic, making this material optimal. 【Features】 - High coefficient of expansion and low thermal conductivity - Better weldability compared to martensitic, ferritic, and duplex stainless steels - SUS304 series has good weldability - Susceptibility to weld cracking is higher in materials with high nickel and molybdenum content, making them sensitive to hot cracking - Strong low-temperature strength and toughness For more details, please contact us.

A method to solve problems of rust and sharpness with stainless steel blades from the material level.

Focusing on stainless steel for cutting tools, we will introduce the "cutting" mechanism and more in a column!

Do you have any concerns about rust or dullness with your stainless steel tools (from knives to brush cutters and industrial blades)? It's disappointing when stainless steel (which means it doesn't rust) starts to show rust. When a blade doesn't perform as expected, it can be quite stressful. When a blade becomes dull, it requires extra force to cut, which can lead to accidents, making it dangerous. Unfortunately, no matter how expensive a stainless steel blade is, it will eventually rust or become dull with use. *For more details, you can view the related links. [Material Improvement Case] From Material Selection to Reduction of Processing Time

Introduction of case studies on the selection of materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and brass, and the reduction of processing time.

Here is a case study on "Material selection and reduction of processing time." 《Customer's Challenge》 The material needs to be corrosion-resistant, so stainless steel is preferred. The delivery time is urgent. 《Solution》 SUS304 is the most commonly used stainless steel, but we recommend SUS303. Compared to 304, it has better machinability, which can reduce processing time. 【Product Description】 ■ SUS303 contains sulfur (S) and phosphorus (P), which are elements that enhance machinability. ■ If welding is required, SUS304 will be used. ■ In addition to stainless steel, we can also process aluminum, brass, copper, iron, and plastics. For more details, please refer to the catalog or feel free to contact us.

[Production Example] SUS304

Suitable for use in humid areas such as food/chemical industry equipment, machinery, faucets, and sinks!

We would like to introduce examples of processing SUS304 by our company. It is a material with very poor thermal conductivity, making it prone to tool breakage due to the difficulty in dissipating machining heat. Additionally, distortion of the stainless steel is likely to occur at high temperatures during processing, which is why it is considered a difficult-to-cut material. If excessive load is applied during processing, the structural organization changes, leading to work hardening, which is also a characteristic of this material. Therefore, the selection of cutting tools and how to manage heat during processing are key points in machining.
